Sterilisation
Sterilise media, glassware and instruments under saturated steam.
Vertical autoclaves work under saturated steam at an adjustable 10 to 20 psi, in capacities from 22 to 187 litres. Portable models in aluminium and stainless steel carry a pressure gauge to 20 p.s.i. and are supplied with a tripod stand.
The vertical range is built in double wall and triple wall construction. The triple wall model adds a separate water chamber and outer jacket in mirror-finish stainless steel, with a low water cut-off.
Pressure is adjustable across the stated range rather than fixed at one setting.
Equipment for this work

Heating, drying and high temperature
Dry, cure and ash at temperatures from just above ambient to 1200 °C.
Universal ovens hold +5 °C above ambient to 250 °C in chambers from 28 to 750 litres. Tray dryers take 12 to 96 trays to 200 °C. The industrial muffle furnace runs at a 1100 °C working temperature with a 1200 °C maximum.
Water and oil baths cover wet heating. A serological bath runs 30 to 100 °C within ±0.5 °C; an oil bath runs 50 to 200 °C within ±1 °C with variable speed stirring.
Ovens are offered with forced convection, digital or microprocessor temperature control, and a size table that runs the full length of the range rather than a single model.

Incubation, germination and stability
Hold a culture, a seed lot or a stability batch for as long as the method runs.
BOD incubators are refrigerated, 5 to 50 °C within ±1 °C. Stability chambers hold 10 to 60 °C within ±0.5 °C and 35 to 95 percent relative humidity, from 125 to 1000 litres. Seed germinators pair a heating and a cooling chamber with humidity to 100 percent RH.
Bacteriological incubators run from 28 to 720 litres, with a glass window in the door.
Seed germinators are offered as single and dual chamber cabinets, with stainless steel shelving and a digital graphic display.

Temperature-sensitive storage
Keep samples and blood products at their storage temperature, and know when they leave it.
Deep freezers run from ambient to −20 °C in 4 to 15 cubic feet. Blood bank refrigerators hold 4 °C to 6 °C with an audio-visual alarm, from 85 to 400 litres, or 50 to 360 blood bags.
Both ranges are offered as a table of capacities rather than as a single unit, so the cabinet is chosen by the load it has to hold.
The blood bank range has an interior in polished stainless steel, with a digital controller and a temperature alarm.

Clean-air workspaces
Work over filtered air when the sample cannot pick up what is in the room.
Laminar air flow cabinets are built in 304 stainless steel with a HEPA filter, pre-filter, static manometer and built-in UV tube, in working chambers from 2 to 6 feet wide.
The vertical cabinet has a plexiglass front door that can be held fully open, half open or closed, with the UV tube interlocked to the door.
An optional microprocessor controller adds HEPA run-time and filter-life alarms, a UV timer and a door-position alarm.
